The CASH Campaign of Maryland (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope) promotes economic advancement for low-to-moderate income individuals and families in Baltimore and across Maryland.
CASH accomplishes its mission through operating a portfolio of direct service programs (free tax preparation, financial coaching/counseling, financial education, public benefits screening), building organizational and field capacity, and leading policy and advocacy initiatives to strengthen family economic stability.
Additionally, CASH continues to lead a statewide coalition of partners that include foundations, nonprofits, community-based organizations, workforce development agencies, the local government, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and hundreds of volunteers. In collaboration with these partners, CASH reaches over 13,000 households annually with programs that reduce poverty and increase financial security for those with a low-to-moderate income in Maryland. Families have a lot to manage with competing bills, finding work that pays a decent wage, and keeping a safe and supportive home for their kids. When that gets overwhelming, CASH's staff and partners are here to guide families to meet their financial goals. CASH's advocacy also helps to make sure that these families are protected from predatory lenders and have a fair shot at paying off their debts.
